the time of the year is here again, for all the teachers out there ((:
TEACHERS' DAY!

as tomorrow (the actual day) is the centre closure, we had the celebration today!

floral
tt's our dress code for the teachers
and guess what, all of us was so spontaenous.
with either floral hairclip, necklace, bracelet, earrings and blouses!
(tt's what i really like about our teamwork)

*too bad we dint haf the chance to take the group photo, as we cant just leave the kids alone and ran off to take it. bleah.

early morning upon greeting my class,
all of them dashed towards their cubbies and flung out their presents to me.
they just practically shoved it into my face.
haha.
wanting to thank them one by one, so we sat together and each of them took turns to present it to me. after which, i thanked them and gave each a big bear hug.
heh, and tt's how they know how sincere i am.

received quite a number of gifts.
earrings
handphone charms/pouches
mugs
cookies
blouse
and many many more.

actually,
it's not the amount of presents received tat made my day,
it's those lil handwritten notes and cards (:

when i first took over the new class,
we went through difficult times,
first in learning on how to grip the pencil
then building up the confidence level in making firm strokes
next the recognition of alphabets and numbers
(on what are the correct strokes blah blah)

till now,
whereby they can write the dates on their work
their names on every crafts
and even recognizing the high frequency words.

aint they a wonderful bunch (:

*it's the sense of achievement tt i am really proud of, and of course being them, they bring loads of fun and laughs to my class.

it's been quite a while since the last update.

I AM STILL DOING AS FINE! ((:

been rather a busy week with the parent teacher conference, on 2 saturdays.
= weekends burned!
however, it's always nice to catch up with the parents about the kids and reassure them that they are doing as fine in school.
glad that all of them are satisfied with their child's progress and of course me!

last monday, received the auditor in the centre
nervous as she went thru the stuffs in my class,
just like having practicum
and guess what,
she commented well, saying that she can see loads of improvements and efforts,
and even asked me to keep it up.

oh man.
i am flying la.
can you imagine, my centre have 12 classes
and it's like we are competing with each other in a way that,
we just want things to go well and of course receive praises.

oh well.

and yes!
went cwp last weekend to get myself a new set of bedsheet;
and by doing so, it cant fail to cheer me up (:

HAPPY 8 YEARS ANNIVERSARY!

true enough,
he sent for flowers delivery to the childcare (:

last night when chatting with him over the phone, i tot there's a change of plan;
he is coming to fetch me with the flowers but, he insisted on carrying out the plan as he want to spring me a surprise ((:

when asked on why he want to sent for flowers delivery, when i am still meeting him in the noon,
he answered,
" because i remember you told me tt it will be a really pleasant surprise for you if someone were to send for any flowers/presents delivery to your workplace.
i just want you to feel happy."

he actually rem on what i have said to him.

feeling proud of himself when he saw how happy i was,
he asked, "so i am romantic right?'

guess what i replied,
"no leh, you being romantic is only once a while. i must wait for very long for another surprise or any romantic actions from you. so KEEP IT UP!"
then i flashed him my biggest grin and slap him on the back.
haha.

actually, i was not the one to receive the flowers as i was in my classroom (@ the 2nd storey).
then my colleagues intercom and asked me to go down now as the Senior Teacher is looking for me.
while making my way down,
i was like ranting non-stop: 'oh no, i must have done something wrong. gosh.'
then upon reaching the office,
5 of my colleagues were staring at me
and pretend to nag at me for something tt i have done.
being the blur me, i dint quite get what they are trying to convey, and so they gave up
one of them brought out the flowers and i was like,
So nice and i am so paiseh. =p

throughout the whole morning, they kept bombarding me with loads of ques relating to him,
such as,

how long have you been with him?
when you both getting married?
he is always so romantic one is it?
later go where dating ah?
are you touched?

standard,
whenever i replied saying tt today is our
8th year anniversary
their jaws will drop and goes, "wahhhhhhhhhhhhhh."

he is proud to be with me for so long.

8 years anniversary (:

both us intended to take leave off on tt day
but coz i dint managed to apply on time,
we are not able to have it celebrated on the day itself

nevertheless, dear reassured me tt it's alright
so long as i can accompany him every day
and stay happy when with him,
he is happy (:

tot he will just give the celebration a miss,
but i was wrong!
he just told me tt he had actually booked a restaurant on sat.
woohoo!~

and today, he keep bugging me for my centre's address
and the time off hours that i am claiming for this whole week
asked him on why he wants to know,

i think i can sense something.
being with him for so long,
i somehow or rather know what's up to his sleeves.

and guess which country tt i haven chosen for my class?

i have loads of activities in mind for them!
- create windmill and get them to go outdoor with it
- come together as a class to create a landscape of holland (with the large mirror that i have in my class)
- compare currencies
- dutch songs/basic greetings.

WOAH!

so right now,
my kids have mastered the basic dutch language, such as

It is so tough not to invite you. Even till these days, Kelly still talks about you with a very smiley face. Remember in one of the cards that I have written to you, I wrote that teacher plays an important role in developing one's life. at last,

i am able to sit up a lil straighter to use the lappy (:

for 4 days, how long is that.

was feeling rather unwell on sunday during dad's birthday celebration.

with throat irritation

but i brushed it off with the excuse of not drinking enough of water

who knows, it developed into fever on monday during work

went back 1/2 day

see doc, and the diagnosis:

tonsillitis

was given 2 days mc and thought i could return to work on wed.

but i was still feeling rather unwell,

thus return to the doctor and was given another 2 days of mc.

argh.

it's long uh.

throughout the 4 days,

high fever

extreme sore throat

ear ache

headache

vomit

loss of appetite

i still get to maintain the close bond with my sunny sunflower (toddler) parents,

can talk about anything and even on how i feel abt certain stuffs in the centre

i am even happier when they shared with me that,

they are keeping their fingers crossed for next year;

right now, i am still trying hard to gain my N2 parent's trust of course winning them over

yesterday received the increment letter about my promotion

i can say tt i am pleased as i dont expect this

well, at least i reached my target.

initially, i thought it's my effort and hard work for the reason of the promotion

but somehow,

a few comments from elaine (my close colleague @ work),

has badly shakened this thought;

worked with her today and we were talking about the promotion stuffs,

on whether she is going to take DPL or not (as Joan has been pushing her to take, in order for a promotion next year)

and when i was mumbling to myself ; not sure how Joan look at me till now

elaine said she knows and thus told me tt:

Joan admits that she promote me due to my qualifications

and i am always forgetful (well, i admit)

this affected a hell load out of me

a promotion is definetly good

but i dont want it to happen just cause of my qualifications

i want to receive it as my recognition of hard work

Joan (P) announced it during our curriculm meeting and i was surprised, flashed my super-fake smile when they applauded. Dint expect tt i will get it for only a year service at LV. At least for now, i know that my efforts are being appreciated (:

2) I got a call from Kinderland, offering me a job position. Hurray!

The principal knows that i am currently working at LV, so she has arranged an interview to see what she can offer me (though i haf no intention to leave LV, i just want to go have a look!)

spent this lovely day with Mr.Oh. LALA!

early morning, met him for breakfast and the long awaited shopping trip
at the morning part,
i noticed tt he is acting rather strange
as in he is not in his usual self
bombarded him with questions like;
"are you okay?"
"why are you so quiet today?"
"not feeling well ah?"
"tired is it?"

but all his replies were "Nothing ah, i am alright. Don't worry" =s
from his reassurance, i stopped pondering and worrying

the rest of the afternoon were spent at his house
and he slept quite a lot (which is not like him!)
din't sense anything wrong
so i just let him be (:

evening, here comes the bad news:
Mr.Oh: "dear, will you be upset at me if i were to lie?"
Me : "Not sure. Have to see what's the issues/matters. Why?"
Mr.Oh: "actually, i have fever from thursday till tis morning and i dint tell you about it. As i know tt you are really occupied and stressed over work. So just dun want to let you worry too much about me. I can take care of myself and now i am feeling okay." -with his signature smile to assure me-
Me : (i teared upon hearing tt and was touched to know tt he is really considerate towards me)

coz from what he know about me is tt:
whenever he is down,
i will get really upset
i will shiver and lost my direction towards work or the day itself
i will tear
i will be worrying like mad
i will check on him every now and then

a drastic change took place in my class
currently i have;
3 assistants
16 children

ya. it's SHIOK to have 3 assistants to under-study me
every day, they will have to follow my schedule + moods

can u imagine how it's like to haf 16 toddlers in your care?
TEDIOUS and ENERGY DRAINING!
worst still,
yesterday 2 new kids came in at the same time
with the whole family to root for them=s
so it's like there was over 30 people watching me carrying out the class activities
i really feel like the 'hired entertainer' for them
haf to carry the 'PR' face around,
mingle with the parents and trying hard to win the new kid's heart
but to be honest,
i dont really care if the new kids were to accept me or not
coz eventually, they will have to be transferred to another 'upcoming toddler class'
i am just doing a favour for my principal,
to take all the children temp (:

but,
ever since the new teacher came in (18yrs old apprentice),
my new parents have been giving loads of feedback to principal
saying tt they do not want their child to get transferred over to another new class
coz they would much prefer to put their children in my class (:
1 of the parent even commented tt,
she might haf to withdraw her son
if the new teacher were to take over her son. aha
plus she is praying hard tt 1 of my kids will drop out of my class
and her son can thus secure a place!

3) During naptime, get him to wear the jumper suit and SOCKS!

Wash his body first

it's indeed wonderful and amazing to knoe that you actually exhibit 'unusual behaviour';
- trying means to find fault in others, esp ME
- see highly of yourself as the HEAD TEACHER with only DPT but 7 years of valuable experiences

- yayaya, it's always good to venture out but it's DEFINETLY not advisable if you do not have the least passion in the field
- i bet you might have forgotten abt tis; since the very 1st month i joined LV@RP, the kids would rather came all the way from your class to mine, just to look for me and wanting to be part of my class. So roughly you shld haf gras[ the concept that you are BAD in classroom management and LACK of the x-factor to win the children's heart over

haf 3 new kids in my class since yesterday,

DISASTER!

1st day - 01/04/08

they just practically scream their heads off.

screaming and shoving you away, just like their enemy

it went on for 30mins,

then triggered the another 2 kids to join in the crying =s

so u can imagine tt i haf 5/10 kids crying in the enclosed area

cant do anything because i cant even hear my voice!

guess wat, i just sat there and watched them being "dramatic"

there's one thing to mention,

1 of the new kid's ah ma cried upon hearing/seeing her grandson crying pathetically =s

saying tt she is the one who brought the child up and she juz cant let go

so both me and the principal (Joan) reassured her

actually, we understand how she is feeling,

but she will haf to let go in order for her grandson to learn and adapt (:

so, she went off with the grandpa

and TA~DA! her grandson was okay after some coaxing

can see that she felt really relieved and happy upon picking him up.

down with flu the moment i gt out of bed in the morning

nevertheless, i still went to work =s

carried out my activity with my children

whereby they will have to identify their shoes after being mixed up,

try to put it on by themselves and vice versa

i am surprised tt Kai is not able to do it even thou he is the brightest kid in my class

most prob coz his dad always wear it for him

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR TO ALL! =)

shopping trip with mum today
actually our intend for this trip is to get mum her bday present
but who knows tt she couldnt find one
and ended up with me buying:

they was shocked and dint manage to recognise me initially
coz of my new haircut. aha =p
had a 2 mins chat with them
but dint really get to find out how's ethan though.
after tt, i dint really feel happy about the meeting
coz it's like i dint really expect their response would be "oh-it's-you-ah"
what i tot is that they would be more than happy to see me
and throw me with the details on how ethan is doing and how he misses me =s

on the other hand,
i just received an email from Zi Xin's (also previously from my PCS class) bro,
saying tt they received my CNY card and are so happy to hear from me
and even invite me to their house!~
he also said tt Zi Xin misses me a lot and haf even try to phone me
but i dint picked it up =(
Zi Xin has been asking a lot about me and keep wondering why she cant get to see me again

How i wish i could just tell Zi Xin tt i misses her as much too, thou i am in another centre with my new children.

strangly enough,

when gt to know tt my left eye was swollen upon waking up

my heart just tell me : stay at hm and dont go to work

i dun haf tt kind of feeling whereby:

i just want to go work no matter how serious my condition can be

all i want is to stay at hm, instead of being in the centre

it's a different thing from the times when i was in PCS

whenever i was unwell or anything,

i will just put on a brave front, travel all the way to the centre,

just to see my children and colleagues there (:

coz with the thought of being able to see them are enuff to make me 4gt abt me being unwell

the prospect there might be alot better but something's not right

i would just go on a shopping binge

to get myself loads of sweets, junk food

or even make e effort to walk home alone, with my ph switched off (:

coz of his qualifications, family background blah blah blah

it's kind of tough for me to deal with both sides for all these yrs,
